It
is established beyond doubt that “Knowledge, Education,
Research & Development, and Wealth Creation are
intimately linked to each other”. Particularly,
Technical Education is the driving force for Economic
Development of the region, state, and country at large.
Experts opine that the most important requirements to
be fulfilled for a nation to be economically developed
are (1) Mastery of knowledge in Science and Technology
and (2) Ability to create New Knowledge. Both these
requirements depend upon the quality and size of technical
education system available with the various regions
and states of the nation.
Secondly,
higher education has a universal component and employment
opportunities are global. Engineering Education develops
the manpower for our needs. Whenever, this developed
manpower is in excess, instead of complaining about
opportunities existing at national level they can look
for the opportunities at global level. Considering
these aspect, one has to conclude that there is an immediate
necessity and potential for new Engineering Institutes
in our country.
